Ah! The Coton de Tuléar, such a clownish creature....an exotic anti-stress....and you will have been forewarned.....
You have a flexible nature and enjoy comedy, but loneliness looms in your life from time to time? You would like a loyal and faithful companion to break the ties of boredom and the monotony in your life? What more practical than to treasure your own family comedian? No need to search any further. A Coton will fill you and your family's life with laughter, and fervently share all of its sweet sentimental and sympathetic soul.
A once in a lifetime companion, a pitiful soul, a
living plush toy happy to entertain you much like an entertained child by the spinning of
a toy top. He certainly mustn't be confused with a herd of cows stampeding in your family
room. I can assure you that it is no other than his trampling! He is so funny, its
incredible! Toss your Lazy-Boy and coffee tables. Clear the family room to allow him
plenty of trampling space. Relax and make yourself comfortable, or better yet, kneel on
the floor and tap your fingers on the ground to simulate a game. Let him lash out. Sweet
talk him in your most impressive soprano or babble like a mother to her baby. He will show
such heartfelt devotion to your flattery. Before your eyes transpires a spontaneous
conversion to an untiring 50 pound dog, condensed in a 10 pound body! Go ahead, witness
the comical nature of this little clever and sprightly intrepid! The more you laugh at his
pranks and jokes, the more you will laugh your heart out, and in turn, the more he will
carry through his merry-go-round, as long as he knows he entertains you.
A ferret released from its cage, a canary soaring from its nest, a purring kitten, a social chimp, a happy lunatic, (he talks to you!), briefly, he is a sprightly untiring.... But, sudden reflections of wonderment ponder your mind: "What could possibly incite such unsuppressible laughter in the presence of this pathetic scoundrel?? The more you laugh, the more he clowns around and the more he demens! But...Ah! you suddenly utter: "I am more of a calm natured individual and not so appreciative of life's fast pace. I much prefer a quiet lifestyle. My health is frail and I would fancy a much calmer and serene companion." Make no mistake about it, the Coton is far from an electrical catastrophe in spite of his inexhaustible energy and he can be just as comical while still being calm. In addition to his poised and sedate nature, his clownish expressions are contagious.
During a television commercial or a short siesta, a mere glance
quickly crossing his gaze, or a gentle whisper of his name, will suffice to entice a quick
response or to get him cluck like a chicken or wag his tail. Endowed with a cornucopia of
sounds and a dictionary making for his intelligent mind, every single word will be used in
his furtive attempts to assure you of his need to be part of your life and that he is
there for you! With a full set of pearly whites grinning and smiling at you, he will
contort his body at your feet, rag doll style, with his incessant tail wagging (yes touch
him) as he worships you. Suddenly, he will dash onto your lap and into your arms,
drenching you with thrifty and tender wet kisses!
Understand that he worships you!! His need to lash out as such is so you understand that
the abundance of love besetting his heart is for you only, his master. You are his one and
only god, his one and only affection and his profound attachment to you and his family is
pathetic. His enslaving love knows no boundaries, and no frontiers, thus, no other love
and loyalty can compare to the love of a Coton for his master. In short, his love is like
a paragon! Reprimands to calm him are in vain, and so is self-suppression of your
laughter. A challenging task I must add. Also know that there is NOTHING in the universe
but death, that can deter the Coton's happiness, nor dissuade the love and loyalty one
will hold for you and your family. In spite of his ability to transform loneliness into
joy and laughter, there will be critical times when ultimate peace and quiet will be
beseeched. Understand however, that a Coton's last word WILL prevail above your
sentiments! Little else but to laugh and to love him more can be done, so enjoy the
laughter and have fun!!
