THANK YOU for submitting your Entry Form to STAGE 2 of "The STAR- MATES Experiment".
If you have been sent to this page after clicking the SEND button on the Entry Form, then be assured your application HAS been emailed and will be processed in a few days. PLEASE BOOKMARK THIS PAGE for further announcements regarding The Experiment. This is a Waiting List only, and you will not receive any Confirmation Letter until after the Experiment resumes in mid 2000. I have found that I cannot handle the workload involved in processing the entries and matches manually, so I have to develop some new software to automate the process. I'm sorry, but the Experiment cannot continue until I have completed and tested some new programs, hopefully by mid 2000. Your mailing address will not be used for any other purpose, and you will receive a Confirmation Letter or new Announcement about the Experiment once it is ready to resume. If you change your email address, you may wish to submit another Application Form to update your info so you can receive the Announcement.
The following information is from the original STAGE 2 of the Experiment in 1998 and may contain some outdated references.
Please note that if your Entry Form was NOT FULLY COMPLETED, you will NOT have a chance to participate in the STAR MATES Experiment unless you RE-APPLIED on a NEW Entry Form BEFORE the first 200 people were accepted for the Waiting List. To secure your spot, please ANSWER ALL QUESTIONS when re-applying! If your completed STAGE 2 Entry Form is not RE-SUBMITTED before entries are closed, you will NOT be guaranteed free inclusion in the ASTRO dataBASE and will not appear on anyone's Search Reports.
If you submitted an incorrect EMAIL ADDRESS, I will not even be able to contact you. Look in the PLEASE RE-APPLY list below.
You WILL be placed on the WAITING LIST *IF* you re-submit an acceptable Entry Form before "The Experiment" ends, but your position on the list will be determined by the time you re-submit an acceptable Entry Form, not by the date of your incomplete Entry Form. So please be careful to answer ALL questions on the Entry Form, so you won't miss your chance to participate!
Please do not email enquiries, unless you have not received a Confirmation Letter (hopefully by mid 2000). If you RE-APPLY, please use your ORIGINAL Application Number and fill in EVERY answer box. If you forgot your number, enter 000.

There is a large back-log of Entry Forms to process, so there may be a delay in getting YOUR Application Number listed here. The earliest applicants on the Waiting List should start receiving their confirmation letters in mid 2000. Note that not all numbers in the series actually represent valid Entry Forms, and the unused numbers will be listed in the |PLEASE RE-APPLY| section below. Please remember to WRITE DOWN your Application Number now, so you can look for it here later.

APPLICATION NUMBERS with MISSING or MISTAKEN ANSWERS:

IF YOUR ENTRY FORM NUMBER (Application Number) APPEARS HERE, PLEASE NOTE:
(1) YOU are NOT in the Stage 2 database and will NOT receive your Search Report unless and until you RE-APPLY on a new and fully-completed Entry Form.
(2) You will NOT appear on any Member's Top 5 List that is sent out BEFORE your new Entry Form is received and accepted, but you may receive your own Search Report IF you re-apply before ALL the Search Reports have been sent out. (3) If your re-submitted Entry Form is NOT received and accepted as complete by the time every Member's Search Report has been sent out, you will forfeit your claim to a free Membership in The Experiment. You have only until JUN 01 1998 (or possibly a few days longer) to submit a fully completed Entry Form with a valid, working email address.Application numbers for the earliest Entry Forms will begin to appear here after JUN 01, so please check again after that date. I apologize for the delay, but I am a one-man operation and have a large back-log of Entry Forms to process. Things should speed up when I upgrade my computer equipment soon. Meanwhile, please remember that you applied for a "Waiting List" and that this may involve some "waiting"...
