PANZER GENERAL PBEM PG (DOS) SCENARIO ADD-ON

FLAGS.SHP

The SAME file SHOULD now be used for "plain vanilla" PBEM PG (DOS), the presently documented add-on as well as all PBEM scenaria comprising the Allied General PG Scenario Add-on. The adopted FLAGS.SHP file is the one that is native to PG (DOS) with period Third Reich and Kingdom of Italy flags having replaced the corresponding images originally provided by SSI.

MAPNAMES.STR

The SAME file SHOULD now be used for "plain vanilla" PBEM PG (DOS), the presently documented add-on as well as all PBEM scenaria comprising the Allied General PG Scenario Add-on. The adopted MAPNAMES.STR file is the one that is native to Allied General (Windows '95) V. 1.1 with a few obvious spelling errors corrected. This is an EXPANDED version of the MAPNAMES.STR file that is native to PG (DOS). In fact, SSI did not change an iota in the TOP portion of the MAPNAMES.STR file that is native to Allied General, which is a PERFECT COPY of the MAPNAMES.STR file that is native to PG (DOS) !!! All changes required by Allied General comprise the BOTTOM portion of the MAPNAMES.STR file that is native to Allied General......i.e., PURE AUGMENTATION !!

PANZEQUP.EQP

The "plain vanilla" PBEM PG (DOS) component and the presently discussed add-on are implemented via the PANZEQUP.EQP that is native to Panzer General (DOS) appropriately augmented at the end to include ALL additional unit specs introduced in Allied General (Windows '95) V. 1.1 with a KEY proviso, namely, that ALL such units make their battlefield debut in December, 1946.......In this way, complete "symmetry" is established without new unit purchase choices being affected in the least !

PANZER.EXE

The Centre has successfully patched up the New Unit Purchase List (NUPL) embedded in PANZER.EXE so that the SAME executable SHOULD now be used for "plain vanilla" PBEM PG (DOS), the presently documented add-on, all PBEM scenaria comprising the Allied General PG Scenario Add-on as well as all PBEM scenaria comprising the PG Custom Scenario Add-on (Armed Conflict (DOS)). The correct new unit purchase choices available are now displayed across the board and such "problematic" scenaria as Norway and Finland have been COMPLETELY tamed in the sense that they are now housed under the same game umbrella..... A few NUPL misclassifications have also been corrected ! PLEASE NOTE that, in conformance with Armed Conflict (DOS) parlance, the programme refers to the Axis as "Wing" and to the Allies as "Star" !!

SCENSTAT.BIN

A modified SCENSTAT.BIN file for PBEM PG (DOS) to be used with the 38 scenaria that are native to the programme. SSI's "fluff" has been replaced by the "meat" (i.e., PRECISE statements of victory conditions) as befits seasoned PBEM types !!
